How It Happened:
• York and Immaculata were in a tight matchup early on in the opening set, keeping the game within three points. A big kill by Madyson Whitcomb gave the Spartans the momentum they needed as they ended the set on a 14-2 run to win 25-11
• York kept the hot streak going as they pulled out to an early 5-2 lead in this set. The MightyMacs were able to trim the deficit to four points, but a costly service error pushed the Spartan lead to 11-6. This then sprung a tremendous run for the Spartans, as they scored the next six points; highlighted by three consecutive services aces to give York a 17-6 advantage. The Spartans lead by at least 9 points the remainder of the set and cruised to once again, a 25-11 victory.
• In the third set, York got off to a bit of a slow start and actually allowed the MightyMacs to earn their first lead of the match falling down 2-1 early. That lead would not last long as Tyler Williams sent a strike to the Immaculata defense that could not be corralled giving the Spartans a lead they would never again surrender. The MightyMacs did their best to fight back and went on a small run to cut the deficit to six, now trailing 12-6, but a huge 13-2 run fueled by Kierstin Grove's defensive efforts closed out the third and final set in this one to give the Spartans a definitive 25-8 victory and the match.
