Volleyball Outlasts Marymount in Wednesday CAC Action

YORK, PA – The York College volleyball squad halted their two game losing skid with a 3-2 Capital Athletic Conference victory over Marymount University on Wednesday night in York. The Spartans continued their strong play at home as they improve to 9-1 at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

The Spartans snapped a five match losing streak against the Saints … York's last win over Marymount was a 3-2 victory in Arlington, Virginia on September 20, 2011 … the match was the last regular season meeting as conference opponents for the Saints and Spartans … Marymount is leaving the CAC for a new and yet unnamed league starting play next fall … The Spartans played their third game without sophomore Madyson Whitcomb, the Spartans leader in kills per game, attack percentage, blocks, and points per game … York hit over .200 for the first time in the last three matches … York recorded five solo blocks, their highest total of the season … the Spartans had 14 block assists and that's the 13th time this year they reached double figures in the category for the year … York improves to 4-1 in five set matches this year … York snapped their two game losing streak as they have not lost three in a row all season … junior Brooke Krebs notched double figures in kills for the ninth time this year while she reached double figures in kills for the seventh time including four games in a row … Krebs now has five double-doubles for the year … freshman Tyler Williams has notched double figures in kills in four of her last five matches and five times for the year … junior Eryn Brady has recorded double figures in kills in six matches including the last two straight.
