Red Hot Knights Snap Spartan Win Streak

BUENA VISTA, VA  – The York College volleyball squad saw their seven game win streak come to a grinding halt at the hands of the hottest team in the Capital Athletic Conference on Friday night as Southern Virginia bounced the Spartans in three sets. The Knights have won 11 straight matches, the top current streak in the CAC.

The Spartans had their season-high seven match win streak snapped … the loss snaps York's two game win streak against the Knights … Southern Virginia is now 3-2 all-time against the Spartans including 2-0 in Buena Vista … four of York's six losses this year have come in straight sets while the other two have come in four sets … York is 3-0 in five set matches this year … York's 18 kills were a new season low by five kills (23 vs. PSU Harrisburg) … York's 22 errors ties a season high (vs. Franklin & Marshall) … York hit in negative numbers (-.042) for the first time this year … York's 17 assists were also a season low … for the first time this year, York did not have a service ace in the game … York had five ball handling errors as they now have 26 in the last four matches … York has six matches left with three at home and three on the road.
