Spartans Complete Great Weekend at Moravian; Emeigh Named All-Tournament

BETHLEHEM, PA – The York College volleyball team concluded a perfect 4-0 weekend with two wins Saturday at the 15th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational hosted by Moravian College in Bethlehem. The Spartans defeated Alvernia in five sets and concluded the unblemished tournament with a four set win over the host Greyhounds in the nightcap.

Tournament Notes:

Sophomore Gabby Emeigh was selected to the All-Tournament team … Baldwin Wallace also went 4-0 and won the tournament title on tiebreakers … the Spartans' 4-0 start is their first 4-0 start since 2013 when they won the 11th Annual Greyhound Premiere Invitational … the Spartans defeated Centenary (N.J.), Alvernia, Moravian, and Swarthmore during the 2013 edition of the tournament … The Spartans won the 2013 title as they had dropped just one set during that weekend … Head Coach Dan Mickle started his career with four straight wins and he is the first Spartan head coach to start his career 4-0.

 Up Next:

The Spartans remain on the road as they travel to McDaniel College on Wednesday evening. Game time in Westminster is set for 7:00 pm. The Green Terror have won four straight games in the series.
