Mary Washington Downs York Women in Friday CAC Match Up

YORK, PA – The York College women's tennis team dropped a 6-0 Capital Athletic Conference decision to the University of Mary Washington on Friday at the Wisehaven Tennis Center in York.

The Spartans fall to 6-4 overall and 1-3 in the league. The Eagles are now 13-2 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the CAC. The match was played inside due to the rain in York. The match was played to decision and the doubles matches were not contested as the singles results determined the match.

Spartan first singles player Gina Liguori played a solid first set before falling 6-3, 6-0. Lauren Ostermann earned a pair of games in her 6-1, 6-1 loss at the sixth singles match. The Eagles won two matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0 while they captured the two others 6-1, 6-0.

The Spartans return to action on Sunday afternoon as they host St. Mary's in a Capital Athletic Conference match. The match is slated for a 11:00 am start.
