ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The York College women's swim team concluded a very successful 2019 Capital Athletic Conference championships on Sunday as they finished the four-day championships in second.
The Spartans accumulated 852 points as the Green and White finished second to Mary Washington. The Eagles totaled 1065 points to win the championship for their 29th straight CAC title. The Spartans finished 459 points in front of St. Mary's as the Seahawks finished third. Frostburg and Salisbury rounded out the championship field.
The Spartans got two individual wins and a relay championship on Sunday. Justine Wantz defended her title in the 200 backstroke as she now has earned four individual CAC championships in the last two years. Madeline Mann capped her Spartan career with a championship in the 100 freestyle. Mann won three titles over the weekend, capturing victory in the 500 freestyle, the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle. She finishes her career with five CAC championships.

Senior Madeline Mann set a new school record in the 100 freestyle with her time of 52.30 … the 400 freestyle relay team of Adrianna Ayala, Justine Wantz, Andrea Sturgis, and Mann set a new school record with their time of 3:31.91 … the Spartans finished the championships with five individual championships, two second place finishes and six third place finishes … the Spartan relay teams earned two firsts, two seconds and a third.
The championships conclude the Spartans 2018-19 season. York will say goodbye to seniors Julia Bogdanski, Nicole Clark, Reilly Kobus, Madeline Mann, Jennifer Strine, and Andrea Sturgis as they earned four straight second place finishes at the Capital Athletic Conference championships.
