LANCASTER, PA – The York College women's swim team opened their 2018-19 season with a strong showing at the Franklin and Marshall Fall Quad meet in Lancaster, PA on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans went 2-1 on the day as they defeated the host Diplomats 146-114 and Widener 169-91 but fell to Capital Athletic Conference foe Mary Washington 156-104.
The Spartans had four individual wins on the day including a pair from All-CAC performer Justine Wantz.

The Spartans had a number of strong performances including the two wins from Justine Wantz … Wantz's time of 59.46 in the 100 backstroke is the top time in the CAC while her time of 2:09.56 in the 200 backstroke is also the top time in the CAC … Junior Adrianna Ayala won the 100 freestyle in a time of 55.28, the top mark in the CAC … Senior Madeline Mann's time of 2:00.24 in the 200 freestyle is the top time in the league.
The Spartans will make their 2018 home debut next Saturday as the Spartans host Salisbury University in a Capital Athletic Conference match. The meet is slated for a 1:00 pm start at the Grumbacher Natatorium.
