YORK, PA – The York College women's swim squad closed out their regular season with a 154-108 loss to the University of Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon in York. The loss snaps York's three match win streak as the Spartans also suffered their first Capital Athletic Conference loss of the year.

The Spartans got a pair of individual wins from Justine Wantz and Adrianna Ayala ... Wantz won the two backstroke events while Ayala was victorious in the 50 and 100 freestyle races … Ayala has now won four events in the last two Spartan meets … Wantz continues to lead the Spartans in individual wins as the sophomore ends the regular season with 13 wins … Ayala now has four wins for the Green and White as she has been coming on in the final month of the regular season … prior to the meet the Spartans celebrated their nine seniors as Danielle Werner, Rachel Spaulding, Kate McConaghy, Samantha Hay, Alex Bowman, and Kacey Banks were recognized for their contributions to the Spartan program.
The Spartans are now off until heading to the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference championships at St. Mary's College on February 23, 24 & 25.
