YORK, PA – On a chilly, windy night in York, defenses shined as offenses struggled as Salisbury University edged the York Spartans 1-0 in Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night. The Sea Gulls and the Spartans combined for just six shots on goal. Salisbury broke the dead lock early in the game and that is all they needed to take down the Spartans and move to 6-0 in the CAC.

How It Happened:

• The Sea Gulls jumped out to a 1-0 lead nearly half way through the first half.  Kasey Lamb found the ball at her feet when a cross was played into the box and tapped around.  She calmly gathered, and slid the left-footed shot past Spartan goalkeeper Jillian Kozak to propel the Sea Gulls into the lead.

• The Spartans threatened just before the half. The Green and White had a few chances in the box but were unable to find the back of the net as Salisbury took a 1-0 lead into the half.

• The second half saw the Sea Gulls keeping the majority of the possession and wind down the clock.  The Spartans had few clear chances at goal all night and were never able to break through to find an equalizing goal as the Sea Gulls swept the season series from the Spartans.
