EWING, N.J. – The York College women's soccer team traveled to #10 College of New Jersey on Monday night in the second match of a four-games in eight days stretch. The Lions put together a strong defensive effort in downing the Spartans 1-0 on a warm evening in Ewing, New Jersey
Freshman Jillian Kozak was outstanding in goal as she made seven saves in allowing one Lion goal.

How It Happened:
• The Lions took control of the game early as they spent a majority of the first half in the Spartan defensive third. Freshman keeper Jillian Kozak kept the Lions off the board with three first-half saves. The Lions outshot York 11-0 in the first 45 minutes of play.
• The Lions finally broke the scoreless tie when Randi Smith hit a cross from the right that found the foot of Alexandra Ryan who finished off the chance in the 59th minute.
• Kozak continued to keep the Spartan in the game with four more second half saves but York could never get anything going in their offensive third. The Spartans finished the game with zero shots and just one corner kick that came inside the final minute of the game.
