How It Happened:

• Both teams battled for possession with the Spartans controlling the ball for the majority of the first half, but both defenses held strong along with some tough conditions, neither team could generate any real dangerous opportunity as the teams went into the half scoreless.

• The Seahawks finally broke free as Alex Moody used her head to pass the ball back outside the 18-yard-box off a cross from the right wing and the ball landed at the foot of Zoe Smedley who blasted a shot into the far left corner to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead in the 62nd minute.

• York had a few promising scoring opportunities late but were just unable to find the back of the net and fell short 1-0.
