Nine Spartans Earn IWLCA Academic Honor Roll Accolades

YORK, PA – The York College women's lacrosse squad placed nine players on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll as announced by the organization recently.

The Spartans had a big year on the field with a school record 17 wins and a third straight trip to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight. The Green and White also got the job done in the classroom as the Spartans finished with a team GPA of 3.60, earning the squad a spot on the IWLCA Academic Team list. 

The nine Spartans who earned the academic honors included seniors Claudia DiVenti, Nicole Clauter, Alyssa Rankin, and Caitlin Rankin along with juniors Meghan Fox, Baleigh Bradley, Regan Cook, Hayley McCormick, and Jordan Conley. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be a junior, a senior, or a graduate student and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater.

DiVenti graduated in May with a degree in nursing while she also earned a minor in psychology. DiVenti graduated Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.50. She was a three-time member of the Dean's List. Clauter, who was the Capital Athletic Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, graduated with a degree in sport management and a minor in business administration. Clauter finished her Spartan career with a 3.75 GPA as she was a six-time Dean's List honoree.

Alyssa Rankin graduated Cum Laude with a degree in fine art with minors in arts administration and art history. Alyssa finished with a 3.61 GPA and five appearances on the York College Dean's List. Caitlin Rankin graduated Cum Laude with a degree in secondary education-mathematics. She concluded her Spartan career with a 3.66 GPA as she earned Dean's List honors in six of her eight Spartan semesters.

Fox is pursuing a degree in public relations along with minors in marketing and speech communications. She owns a GPA of 3.76 and has been a member of the Dean's List in all six of her collegiate semesters. Bradley is a graphic design major who owns a cumulative GPA of 3.67. She has also earned Dean's List honors in all six of her York College semesters.

Cook is one of the top students on the team as she has a 3.96 GPA as a sport management major. Cook has four 4.0 GPA semesters as she has been on the Dean's List in all six of her collegiate semesters. McCormick is one of the top female student-athletes at York as she owns a perfect 4.0 GPA as a sport management major. McCormick is also pursuing minors in Spanish and marketing. Conley is a human services major while she is also pursuing a pair of minors in applied youth development and psychology. Conley has posted a cumulative GPA of 3.75 as she is five-time member of the Dean's List.

The academic honors caps a big awards season for the Spartans. Head coach Jen Muston was named the CAC and IWLCA Metro Region Coach of the Year. Clauter earned the IWLCA Defensive Player of the Year and the CAC Player of the Year in addition to her all-region and All-American honors. Clauter, Fox, and Cook each earned All-American honors while DiVenti joined those three on the all-region team. Clauter, Fox, Cook, DiVenti and Cailtin Rankin all earned All-CAC honors for the Spartans.

The senior class departs York as the most successful class in school history with 60 wins. The Spartans made four NCAA tournament appearances, three straight NCAA Elite Eight appearances, three CAC championship games, one CAC regular season championship, and one CAC tournament championship.
