Lewis, Harhigh, and Lindsay Make All-CAC Teams

YORK, PA. – The Spartan softball received some great news Thursday morning as three Spartans were named to All-Capital Athletic Conference teams as announced by the league office. Junior pitcher Ginger Lewis earned first team honors while freshmen Alyssa Harhigh and Taylor Lindsay each earned second team accolades at shortstop and designated player respectively.

Lewis continued to dominate the CAC in the circle for the third-straight year as she earned her third consecutive first team honor. On the year, Lewis tossed 139.1 innings, making 22 starts with 17 complete games, posted 14-8 record with a 1.61 ERA while also striking out 129 batters. Lewis led the conference in strikeouts with the next highest finishing 25 punch-outs behind her. She also was second in the conference in wins, saves, and fourth in ERA.

Some of Lewis' most dominant performances came against Adrian College and Penn State Harrisburg. Against Adrian, she tossed a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts on March 3, and outdid herself on April 3 when she pitched a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts but only allowing two hits against the Lions. She is already among the career leaders in program history in wins, appearances, shutouts, strikeouts, ERA, innings, and is the school's all-time leader in saves with seven.

Harhigh made her appearance in the middle of the Spartan lineup felt right away as she blasted a team-leading 13 home runs on the season. On the year, Harhigh hit .343 with eight doubles, 13 homers, 38 RBI, and 35 runs scored. Her 13 homers were second in the conference this year while her 38 RBI put her in second.

Harhigh impressed all season at the plate but at one point had a twelve-game hit streak including a four-game span during that streak where she homered in every game while driving in ten runs. On March 24 against Cabrini, Harhigh became the seventh Spartan in school history to post a multi-homer game.

Lindsay was a strong contributor for the Spartans both at the plate and also in the circle. In the circle, Lindsay went 4-3 with a save along with 45 strikeouts and a 2.98 ERA in 65.2 innings. At the plate, she led the Spartans with a .357 batting average while also hitting seven doubles, nine home runs, and driving in 34. Lindsay finished third in the conference in homers and fourth in RBI.

Lindsay was consistent all year including a pair of six-game hit streaks including a four-game span where she homered in every game with two coming against national-ranked Christopher Newport. On March 24, Lindsay joined Harhigh with a multi-homerun game as she became the eighth Spartan to ever achieve this feat.

York went 25-19 under Head Coach Jen Petteys in 2019, and reached another CAC Tournament, where they earned a pair of wins.
