YORK, PA. – York College freshman Taylor Lindsay had a fantastic week for the Spartan softball squad as she earned the Capital Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Lindsay hit .375 for the week going 6-for-16 with a double and a pair of home runs as York went 5-1 on the week and 3-1 in CAC play. Lindsay started her week with a walk-off single to defeat Delaware Valley in game one of that doubleheader and then followed that with a 1-for-3 performance with a double and an RBI in the nightcap win.
Over the weekend, Lindsay would go 1-for-2 with five walks in the Spartans' doubleheader sweep of Southern Virginia on Saturday. Lindsay shined in the doubleheader Sunday at #3 Christopher Newport. In the game one loss, Lindsay went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. She then went 1-for-2 with the go-ahead solo homer in the game two upset over the Captains.
For the week, Lindsay also scored two runs and walked seven times giving her an on-base percentage of .565 on the week. On the year, Lindsay is hitting .368 with seven home runs and 21 RBI to go along with six doubles and 11 runs scored. She also has a 2.52 ERA in 61.0 innings in the circle.
