How It Happened

• York took the early lead in the top of the second inning. After a Taylor Lindsay double, Julie Van O'Linda would come up with a clutch two-out single to center field to bring in Lindsay for the first run of the game. Cabrini would answer in the bottom of the frame when Allison Martin came in to score on an Olivia Young single to tie the game. Ginger Lewis buckled down and minimized the damage by stranding three Cavalier runners on the bases to keep the score tied 1-1.

• Cabrini would take their first lead of the day in the bottom of the fourth inning. Aysiah Cintron would launch a two-out two-run homer to center field giving the Cavaliers a 3-1 advantage. The Spartan offense as held hitless in the fourth and fifth innings before Mia Ruffalo would launch a solo shot to cut the Cabrini lead in half in the bottom of the sixth.

• The Spartans would get the tying run in scoring position on an Elle Meyer double but she would be left standing on second and York dropped game two 3-2.
