St. Mary's Men Edge Spartans 2-1 in CAC Contest

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The York College men's soccer team dropped a hard fought 2-1 Capital Athletic Conference decision at St. Mary's on a summer-like Wednesday night in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The Spartans have lost two straight to open CAC play.

How It Happened:

• The Seahawks opened the scoring in the 16th minute as Roshawn Panton scored off a pass from Josh McRobie for the lead. The goal was Panton's sixth tally of the year.

• The Spartans got the equalizer in the 43rd minute as senior Isiah Dorsey found the back of the net for the Green and White. Both teams finished the first half with five shots each while they each had just one shot on goal. York had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes of play.

• The Seahawks wasted little time in recapturing the lead as McRobie recorded the go-ahead goal just 5:24 into the second half. The goal was McRobie's fifth of the year and was assisted by Anoi Hindle.

• The Green and White put three shots on cage in the second half but Cristian Reyes recorded a trio of saves to earn the win.

The Spartans fall to 30-7-1 all-time against St. Mary's as the Seahawks have won two straight in the series … York tied their season low with just two saves in the game .. York's six corner kicks were their highest total in their last four games … the 2-1 loss is the second of the year as they are now 2-2 in games decided by a 2-1 score … sophomore Trevor Hogan made his first collegiate start as he allowed two goals and made two saves in his 90 minutes of work … senior Isiah Dorsey scored his first goal of the season in the match … Dorsey's goal in the game was just York's fifth unassisted goal of the year.
