Pfeiffer's Seven Points Powers Spartans Past McDaniel on Saturday

WESTMINSTER, MD – The York College men's lacrosse team took to the road for the first time this year and came home with a 14-8 win at McDaniel College on Saturday. The Spartans, who are ranked seventh in the most recent USILA Poll, improve to 3-0 with the win.

How It Happened

• The Spartans trailed early as Noah Longest opened the scoring in the game for the Green Terror as he scored 2:04 into the contest. The Spartans responded with three straight goals to close out the first quarter. Thomas Pfeiffer scored twice followed by a Brad Casale goal as York led 3-1 after 15 minutes of play.

• The second quarter was full of offense as each team scored four goals in the period. McDaniel scored three of the first four goals of the quarter to tie the game at four midway through the period. The Green and White answered with three of the next four goals as Pfeiffer started the run while Brendan McGrath finished with two goals of his own to put York up 7-5 heading to the break.

• York pulled away in the third quarter as the Green and White outscored the Green Terror 4-1 to take control of the contest. The Spartans got goals from Casale, Gunnar Reynolds, and two more from McGrath.

• The Spartans outscored McDaniel 3-2 in the final period to cruise to the six-goal win. Reynolds, Noah Bruno, and Pfeiffer.
