2017-18: Had a strong junior season while appearing in 11 events including two wins and eight top tens...led the Spartans with an average of 75.41...finished second at the CAC championships earning his 3rd all-CAC honor and the second time he was on the First Team...shot a season low 69 in the first round of the Rosemont Ravens Invitational...had 19 of 22 rounds finish in the 60s or 70s...shot a season low 145 twice in the Bay Creek Invitational and the Montgomery Cup.
2016-17: Had an outstanding sophomore campaign as he averaged 76.2 over the course of 21 round for the Spartans ... was York's top finisher at the CAC Championships as he finished seventh in the tournament ... Newton finished with a three-day total of 232, one stroke out of sixth place and four strokes out of a top five finish ... earned tournament medalist honors at the Camp Lejeune Scarlet Tournament as he shot a three day total of 214 ... Newton shot 67 in the opening round of the Camp Lejeune Tournament ... had four top-ten finishes for York during the year.
