How It Happened

• The Spartans started their offensive onslaught right away scoring three runs on three hits in the first inning. Austin Denlinger would record an RBI-triple followed by a two-run homer by Brandon White. The Mustangs would get one run back in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 3-1.

• York would balloon their lead over the next three innings outscoring the Mustangs 12-1 during the third, fourth, and fifth innings. In the third, the Spartans got runs on a Jack Barry sac fly and three straight doubles by Luke Turner, Jimmy Wiegers, and Garrett Southern. Wiegers and Southern added RBI-hits in the fourth inning as well. The fifth inning brought in five Spartans on four hits that included RBI-singles from Rob Acierno and Craig Wiley. York led 15-2 after five.

• Both teams would score a run in the sixth with the Denlinger blasting his first career homer in the top half of the frame. Sal D'Onofrio would bring in Southern on a sac fly in the seventh inning as York continued to put runs on the board. The offensive explosion ended in the eighth with the Green and White tallying three more runs on just one hit. York would cruise to a 20-6 victory over Stevenson.
