Immaculata held a 16-4 lead heading to the final inning of the night cap but the Spartans plated 11 runs in the bottom of the inning before leaving the tying run stranded at third when the game ended.

How It Happened

• The Mighty Macs got to starter Joel Kenney early as they got a trio of unearned runs in the top of the first to take the early lead. York promptly responded with a three spot of their own in the bottom of the third, thanks in large part to some shoddy outfield defense by Immaculata. With Zach Hossler on at first base, Seth Brosius ripped a ball to right that looked like it was going to be caught but the ball carried over the head of right fielder Ivan Perez for a double. Christian Bilan then followed with another ball to right that eluded Perez for an RBI double. Jack Barry then lifted a sacrifice fly to left that was dropped for an error as Brosius scored. Bilan came around to score as Luke Knott plated him with a ground ball to second.

• York took the lead in the bottom of the second as Garrett Southern doubled and scored when Patrick Clement laid down a sacrifice bunt that got thrown into right field allowing Southern to score. Grant Oberholtzer put runners at the corners with a beautifully placed bunt single. Oberholtzer moved to second on a wild pitch and then both runners came home on Hossler's two run double to right center.

• York blew the game wide open in the fifth with a five run inning. Brosius started the scoring with a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Clement who opened the inning with a single. Bilan singled throught the right side to score Oberholtzer with York's eighth run of the game. Freshman Jack Barry then jacked a three-run homer to deep right center for his second home run of the year as the Green and White took the 11-3 lead.

• The two squads traded single runs in the sixth. Brad Misialek launched a solo homer to left center to score the Macs' fourth run. Barry notched an RBI single to right center to score Brosius as York's lead stood at 12-4.

• York closed out the scoring in the seventh as Hossler ripped a solo home run to right, providing for the final 13-4 score.

• Senior starter Joel Kenney benefited from the offensive outburst as he picked up his first win of the year. Kenney threw seven strong innings as he allowed just one earned run for the game.

How It Happened

• Much like game one, the Mighty Macs struck for three runs in the top of first inning. This time it didn't come with help from the Spartans as they banged out three hits. The big blow came from Richard Fontanillas as he stroked a two-run single to right for the Mighty Macs.

• York got a pair back in the bottom of the first as Christian Bilan ripped a two run double to right to get the Spartans on the board.

• Immaculata kept rolling in the second as Tristan Ryan blasted a three-run homer to right field to push the Mighty Macs' lead to 6-2.

• The Macs added two more in the third as freshman hurler Brandon Haggerty struggled with his control. Haggarty walked three and hit another as the runs came on a walk and a single to right. It could have been worse but Seth Brosius hosed a runner at the plate to end the inning.

• York got two back in the bottom of the third as Brosius drew a two-out walk and came home when Bilan blasted a two-run homer to right, drawing York to within four at 8-4.

• Immaculata continued their offensive onslaught in the fourth with another three spot as the lead grew to 11-4. The Mighty Macs kept rolling in the fifth with a five spot highlighted by a big three-run homer from Nick Cerelli as it appeared the rout was on as the guests led 16-4

• The Spartans headed to the bottom of the seventh down 12 runs and the Green and White made it very interesting. York scored 11 runs and had the tying run at third with two outs. Jack Barry began the inning with a two run single to right field to get the scoring started. Collin Crowell followed with an RBI single to left. Garrett Southern scored the fourth run of the inning with a sacrifice fly. Oberholtzer had an RBI single to short as the Spartans cut the lead to 16-10. Brosius was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 16-11. Bilan was then hit by a pitch with an 0-2 count to drive in another run. Barry then slammed a bases clearing double to get York to within a run before Brady Fidler came in to get the final out of the game for the save.
