YORK, PA - York College is proud to annouce that senior women's soccer captain Natalie McCarthy has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 3.

McCarthy led the Spartans to the Capital Athletic Conference semfinals as she shined in Saturday's CAC Quarterfinal win over St. Mary's. McCarthy struck for her first goal 1:13 into the second half as she scored on a nifty shot that slipped between St. Mary's keeper Gabby Manning and the near post, pushing York's lead to 2-0.

She capped the scoring in the 72nd minute as she scored off a pass from fellow senior Ryan Hussey to remove all doubt about the outcome of the game.

McCarthy now has a team-leading 20 points on eight goals and four assists. She is tied for second in the CAC in goals scored while she is second in points.

The Spartans advance to face top seeded Salisbury on Wednesday in the CAC Semifinals. Game time is set for 2:30 pm in Salisbury, Md.
