LOCK HAVEN, PA – The York College women's cross country squad had a solid showing at the 2018 Lock Haven Cross Country Open hosted by Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA. The Spartans finished sixth of 17 teams at the event, finishing with a team score of 162.
Division I West Virginia won the day with a staggering team score of 27. West Chester finished second with 114. Lebanon Valley was the top Division III school at the Open with 149 points.
Top Spartan Finishers
• Senior Jess DelViscio was the Spartans' top finisher as she placed 25th with a time of 22:51.8. She was 12 seconds out of a top 20 finish with her time.
• Freshman Taylor Barkdoll was York's next finisher as she placed 28th, crossing the line in a time of 22:53.1, just under two seconds behind DelViscio. Teammate Jordan Haberstroh was two strokes back of Bardoll in 30th with a time of 23:00.4.
• Senior Alayna De Bruin was York's fourth finisher as she posted a 41st place finish, completing the race with a time of 23:20.3. Sophomore Emma Rogers clocked in with a time of 23:32.2, good for 48th place finish.

"The women really showed up and had great races," said head coach Stephen LoBianco. "With an aggressive goal of being the top Division III team at the race, we fell just short against a very strong Lebanon Valley team. The women had a top of PR's, and with such a strong one through seven pack today, I am excited to get back to work."
The Spartans are now off until October 13 when they head to Glassboro, New Jersey to participate in the Inter-Regional Border Battle hosted by Rowan University. The event is slated for an 11:00 am start.
