YORK, Pa. – York College freshman runner Misty Parshall has been honored by the Capital Athletic Conference for the second straight week after she placed first at the Goucher College Classic last Saturday. Parshall was chosen as the CAC Women's Cross Country Co-Athlete of the Week just one week after garnering the honor on October 11. Parshall garners the award along with Wesley College junior Tritin Burris who won the Delaware St. University Classic.
Parshall, who was also named the Spartan Athlete of the Week, picked up the accolade after winning the Goucher College Cross Country Classic. She led the field of 70 runners by crossing the finish line at 25:22. Her meet-winning time paced the Spartan squad to a second-place team finish.
For the season, Parshall has led the Spartan squad in four of York's six races this season including each of the last two. In the two events where she was not the first Spartan to cross the line, she proved the second just behind sister Mandy Parshall, who was named the CAC Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on September 27.
The Spartans now turn their focus to the training over the final two weeks before the annual Capital Athletic Conference Championships. The CAC meet is slated for Saturday, October 29, at York's John Rudy Park with a start time of 11:00 am.
