Spartan Women Conclude Season at NCAA Regionals
SLIPPERY ROCK, PA – The York College men's cross country squad concluded their 2010 campaign with a 30th place finish as the 2010 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional hosted by Carnegie Mellon University at Cooper's Lake Campground in Slippery Rock, PA. The Spartans finished with 800 points in the 45-team field.
Johns Hopkins won the regional with a score of 68. The Blue Jays' Centennial Conference rival Dickinson College placed second with 126 points. Elizabethtown placed third followed by Haverford while Grove City rounded out the top five.
Junior Mandy Parshall concluded her stellar first cross country season clocking in with a time of 25:00.3 as she finished 101st out of the 314-runner field. Parshall won the CAC Runner-of-the-Year award last week as she claimed first at the conference championships in Salisbury.
Sophomore Tuesday Wilson was the next Spartan to cross the finish line as she recorded a time of 26:06.6, good for a 169th place finish. Sophomore Nicole Danielewicz was two spots back of Wilson as she finished 171st with a time of 26:08.8. Senior Melody Parshall concluded her Spartan career with a 177th place finish as she crossed the line in a time of 26:19.7. Junior Corie Thompson rounded out the Spartan scorers, placing 182nd with a time of 26:24.3.
The Spartans finish was a solid end to a good season as York coach Erick Camodeca certainly has the women's program heading in a great direction.
