ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The York College women's cross country squad picked up a quality third-place finish Saturday morning at the Battle of the Buggy Invitational in Elizabethtown, Pa. The Spartans grabbed third with 98 total points in their final meet until the Capital Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, November 6. First-place Salisbury posted 35 points and host Elizabethtown notched 56.
Tuesday Wilson, the Green and White's top finisher on the day, ran an excellent meet as she came in 16th out of 94 participants. Wilson, who ran a smooth, efficient, and competitive race, traversed the 6,000-meter course in 25:03 – averaging 6:43.20 per mile.
Spartan senior Melody Parshall seems nearly returned to form as she took 18th overall. The talented veteran posted a total time of 25:13 garnering York's second finish.
The Green and White saw Mandy Parshall collect 26th as she finished in 25:41.
Nicole Danielewicz, a young runner who is continuing to gain confidence and experience with every race, put together a quality performance. She crossed the line at 25:42 to take 28th place.
Abby Peller, one of the Spartans' promising youngsters, ran exceptionally well. As she continues to build, Peller notched a 26:50 good for 49th place.
The Spartans now set their sights squarely on the CAC Championships on November 6. York travels to Winterplace Park in Salisbury, Md. for the annual conference meet. Race time is slated for 11:00 am.
