YORK, PA – York College women’s cross country runner Melody Parshall (Dover,Pa./ Homeschooled) ran to her second Capital Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete-of-the-Week accolade for her performance at the Goucher Invitational on October 11.
The two-time all-conference runner led the Spartans to a victory at the Goucher Classic while posting a first place time of 25:40.19. The time was over ten seconds ahead of the second place finisher. It was also Parshall’s first individual win of the season.
On the season Parshall has finished in the top ten in all of the Green and White’s races, and has lead the women in all of those events.
This is Parshall’s second Athlete-of-the-Week award she earned her first on September 22. The first honor was earned with a second-place individual finish at the York Invitational at John Rudy Park.The Dover product posted a time of 21:27.09 to surpass 62 other runners.
Parshall will lead the Spartans' to the Hood Open on Saturday October 17. The women will take to the course at Heritage Farm Park in Frederick, MD around 10:00 a.m.
