Parshall and Wilson Lead Spartans to Victory

The York College women’s cross country team finished first overall out of 10 teams to win the York College Invitational I at John Rudy Park on Saturday. The Spartans had eight runners finish in the top 25 as they finished with a total time of 1:52:15.55, more than six minutes quicker than second place finisher St. Mary’s.

The Green and White’s top runner was senior Melody Parshall (Dover, Pa./Homeschooled) as she finished the 5,000 meter run, second overall with a time of 21:27.09, less than 13 seconds behind Alvernia University’s Bridget Burger.

After finishing eighth during the McDaniel College’s Green Terror Challenge 3k portion a week ago, Tuesday Wilson (York, Pa./Eastern York) nabbed third place for the Spartans, finishing in 21:31.59

The Spartans will again compete at John Rudy Park, this time on September 26 for park two of the York Invitational that is set to start at 10:30 a.m.
