Spartan Women Compete at McDaniel College Green Terror Challenge
WESTMINSTER, MD-The York College women’s cross country team competed at Saturday’s McDaniel College Green Terror Cross Country Challenge in Westminster, MD. The event was split into two separate races, a 3k run and a 5k race. The Spartans did not compete in the 3k event but did finish third in the 5k race.
The Spartans were led by sophomore Melody Parshall (Dover, Pa./Homeschooled) as she finished third with a time of 21:06. Junior Kristen Hursey (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) was the next Spartan to cross the finish line as she placed 12th, recording a time of 22:57. Junior Corey Hawks (Aberdeen, Md./Harford Tech) was the next Spartan to cross the finish line as she placed 15th with a time of 23:42. Teammate Terah Bloemer (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) placed 16th as she recorded a time of 24:01.
The Spartans return to action next Saturday as they host the Spartan Invitational at John Rudy County Park in York. The women’s race is slated to begin at 10:30 am.
