Spartan Volleyball Has Tough Saturday at F&M

LANCASTER, PA – The York College Spartan volleyball squad suffered a pair of losses during the second day of the Franklin & Marshall Scramble Quad on Saturday in Lancaster. The Spartans fell to Lebanon Valley 3-0 in the opener and then F&M got the Spartans in four in the nightcap.

Saturday's Notes:

The Spartans had two players named to the All-Tournament team as Alexis Harbold and Madyson Whitcomb both earned the honors … the Spartans hit under .125 in both matches (.124 vs. LVC and .102 vs. F&M) as they are hitting .165 for the year … York had 23 service aces in the two matches and had 33 in the three games this weekend … York had a season-high 76 digs in the loss to F&M … York has lost five straight against LVC and they are now 5-9 against the Flying Dutchmen since 2007 … York has now lost six straight against F&M as they are 2-7 against the Diplomats since 2006.

The Spartans return to action on Monday night, September 11 as York will finally play a home match. The Spartans host Elizabethtown College in a non-conference match. The match is slated for a 7:00 pm start at Charles Wolf Gymnasium in York.
