LANCASTER, PA – The York College volleyball squad got back on the winning side of the ledger with a 3-1 victory over Penn State Altoona on Friday night in Lancaster, PA. The match was a part of the F&M Scramble Quad with Altoona, Franklin & Marshall and Lebanon Valley.

The Spartans bounced back from their first loss of the year on Wednesday night at McDaniel … the last two Spartan wins have come in four sets … York is now 4-2 all-time against PSU Altoona … York tied a season-high with 14 service errors (Sept. 2 vs. Moravian) … York hit a season-best .250 as it is just the second time they have hit over .200 for a match … The Spartans finished with 45 kills in the match, their second-highest total for the year … York has been over 40 kills for the last three matches in a row … York's nine service aces were their second highest total of the year (14 vs. Alvernia on September 2) …York had a season-low five blocks (1 solo, 8 assists) … The Green and White finished the match with 29 digs, their second lowest total of the year (24 vs. Bard on Sept. 1).
The Spartans returns to Lancaster for a doubleheader of matches on Saturday. York faces Lebanon Valley in the opener at 11:00 am. The Green and White then will square off against host F&M at 3:20 pm. The Spartans will then make their home debut on Monday, September 11 at 7:00 pm.
