Waltermyer Named CAC Volleyball Player of the Week

York College senior volleyball middle hitter Alishia Waltermyer has been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week for October 11, 2010. Waltermyer was named the MVP of the Fifth Annual Hampton Inn Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna this past weekend. She reached double figures in kills in two matches for the week including a 16-kill performance against Rowan. The Spartans, who have won 21 straight, won their fourth in-season tournament of the year. Waltermyer hit .382 for the week while she served at 100%. She scored a team-high 60 points in the five matches including 18 in the victory over the Profs. Her 15 blocks for the week also were a team-high as the Spartans went 5-0.

The weekly award is the first of the year for Waltermyer, joining junior Julie Coombs and sophomore Ashley Rineman who were named the conference player of the week on September 13 and September 21 respectively.
