Rineman Chosen for Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week

YORK, Pa. – York College sophomore volleyball standout Ashley Rineman has been chosen as the latest Spartan Athlete-of the-Week for the 2010-2011 academic year. Rineman led the Green and White to five wins this week including the Neumann University Knights Invitational Title.

This week, Rineman's dig total rose to 289, including a match-high of 19 digs against Hood College.

In the Neumann Invitational, the libero had 12 digs in both matches against Capital Athletic Conference foe Wesley and Marywood College.

In the last day of the tournament, Rineman totaled 24 digs over host Neumann.

In the championship game against Widener, Rineman had 34 digs as she helped the Spartans to their second tournament championships of the year. For her weekend efforts, she was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

Rineman will look to lead the Green and White in the York College Tournament this upcoming weekend. The Spartans begin the tournament on Friday, September 24,  at 5:00 pm as the York squad faces Johns Hopkins.
