YORK, PA - York College junior middle hitter Alysse Beshore (York, Pa./Northeastern) was named first-team All-Capital Athletic Conference as the league released the 2009 all-star squad on Tuesday. The honor is the first for Beshore as she helped lead the Spartans to a berth in the CAC Tournament and 18 wins.
Beshore had an outstanding season as she led the Spartans in points with 365, good for an average of 3.04 points per set. She hit .322 for the year while she averaged 2.25 kills, 0.31 service aces, 0.77 digs, and 0.87 blocks per set. She also was one of York’s top servers as she finished with a service percentage of .913%.
Spartan head coach Sue DuMars was pleased to see her junior standout get recognized.
“I was pleased to see Alysse get rewarded for a great year,” says DuMars. “She was very good and consistent all year long. Alysse is also a competitive player that has pushed her teammates to get better. She is a hard worker who continues to get better as her career progresses.”
Beshore finished second in the CAC in attack percentage while she sits just outside the top ten in kills per game.
Beshore is one of six starters that are slated to return for the Spartans next year as York looks to take the next step in the CAC.
