Spartan Hall of Fame Grows by Three
The York College Athletic Hall of Fame will grow by three as Jill Crouse-Wolf, Chris Showers, and Michael Jackson will be inducted into the prestigious fraternity on Saturday, May 1 at Charles Wolf Gymnasium. The 1998 Men’s Soccer team will also be honored by the College as they were the first team in program history to win a Capital Athletic Conference championship.

Alysse Beshore Named First-Team All-CAC
York College junior middle hitter Alysse Beshore was named first-team All-Capital Athletic Conference as the league released the 2009 all-star squad on Tuesday. The honor is the first for Beshore as she helped lead the Spartans to a berth in the CAC Tournament and 18 wins.

Spartans Take Sea Gulls to the Brink Before Falling in Five
The fourth-seeded York College volleyball squad took the top-seeded Salisbury University Sea Gulls to five game before falling 3-2 in the semifinal round of the 2009 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday night in Salisbury. The Sea Gulls now head to the conference championship while the Spartans have their season come to a close.

Spartan Volleyball Advances to CAC Semifinals
The York College volleyball team dropped the first set to St. Mary's but the Spartans bounced back to win three straight sets to capture their Capital Athletic Conference tournament first round game on Tuesday night in York. The Spartans now advance to face top seeded Salisbury in the semifinals on Thursday.

Rentzel Named Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week
After handing out over 90 assists in a trio of matches this week, York College volleyball sophomore setter Cortni Rentzel has been selected for this edition of the Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week.

Spartans Drop Final Two of 2009 Regular Season
The York College volleyball team suffered a pair of losses Saturday afternoon at the Moravian tri-meet in the final day of York’s regular season. The Green and White first fell to the host Greyhounds in four sets (17-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-18) before dropping a five-set affair to an exceptional Lebanon Valley squad (25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 15-25, 15-10).

Spartans Cruise Past Blazers in CAC Finale
The York College volleyball squad closed out their 2009 Capital Athletic Conference slate with a 3-0 victory over Hood College on Wednesday evening in York. The Spartans won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-14, and 27-25. The Spartans improve to 17-11 overall and close out their conference slate with a mark of 5-3.

Carnegie Mellon Edges Spartans at Juniata
The York College women’s volleyball squad dropped their second straight match at the Wid Guisler Invitational hosted by Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA. The Spartans fell in a hard-fought match against Carnegie Mellon University, 3-2 in Saturday’s opening match. The Spartans fall to 16-10 overall while the Tartans improve to 14-11.

Second Ranked Eagles Roll Past Spartans
The York College women’s volleyball squad dropped their third match at the Wid Guisler Invitational hosted by Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA as the second ranked Eagles of Juniata downed the Spartans 3-0 on Saturday evening. The Eagles won the match decisively 25-13, 25-14, and 25-17.

Spartans Fall in Three to Geneva
The York College volleyball squad opened their stay at the Wid Guisler Invitational hosted by Juniata College with a 3-0 loss to Geneva College on Friday evening in Huntingdon, PA. The scores were 25-22, 25-20, and 25-19. The Spartans fall 16-9 overall with the loss.

Spartans Bounce Saints to Pick Up CAC Win
The York College volleyball squad picked up a four set Capital Athletic Conference win at Marymount University on Tuesday night in Arlington, VA. The Spartans improve to 16-8 overall and 4-3 in the league with one conference match remaining.

Senior Day a Success as Spartans Down Cardinals in Four
The York College volleyball team made their 2009 Senior Day a memorable one as they defeated former Capital Athletic Conference foe Catholic University 3-1 in a non-conference match Thursday night. The Spartans, who improve to 15-8 overall, won the match 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Balanced Spartans Cruise by Wolverines
The York College volleyball squad used a very balanced effort to cruise past the Wesley Wolverines 3-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference contest in Dover, Del. on Tuesday evening. The Spartans won the match 26-24, 25-16, and 25-10. York improves to 14-8 with the victory.

Spartans Nab Second at Crusader Classic; Beshore Named MVP
The York College volleyball team captured a pair of victories Saturday at the 2009 Hampton Inn Crusader Classic, landing them in second place in the four-team tournament. Sophomore Alysse Beshore received MVP honors for her outstanding performance at the Classic.

The York College volleyball squad has joined the "Dig Pink" campaign in an effort to raise awareness and funding for the fight against breast cancer.

Spartans Split a Pair during day one of Crusader Classic
The York College volleyball squad split their two matches during the opening day of the Fourth Annual Hampton Inn Crusader Classic hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. The Spartans blanked Montclair State 3-0 in the opener before falling to the host Crusaders, 3-0, in the nightcap.

Spartans Struggle in Loss to Gallaudet
The Gallaudet Bison volleyball squad posted a 3-0 win over York College on Wednesday night in a Capital Athletic Conference action in York. The Spartans, who have lost three straight, fall to 10-7 overall and 2-3 in the CAC.

The York College volleyball squad dropped a 3-1 Capital Athletic Conference decision at the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday evening in Fredericksburg, VA. The Spartans, who have now lost two straight, fall to 10-6 overall and 2-2 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

Spartans Split Two Matches During Best Western Westgate Invitational
The York College women's volleyball squad split their two Saturday matches during the Spartan Best Western Westgate Invitational in York. The Spartans defeated Messiah 3-1 in the opener before falling to Lebanon Valley in the nightcap. York finished second in the tournament as they went 3-1 for the weekend.

Spartans Pick Up Two Wins at Best Western Westgate Invitational
The York College volleyball squad posted a pair of wins during the opening day of the Spartan Best Western Westgate Invitational in York on Friday. The Spartans defeated Moravain 3-1 in the opener followed by a 3-0 win over Rowan in the nightcap at Wolf Gymnasium.

Spartans Put Together Strong Effort, Blank St. Mary's 3-0
The York College volleyball squad put together one of their more complete efforts of the year as they defeated St. Mary's College 3-0 in a Capital Athletic Conference match in York on Tuesday night. The Spartans won 25-22, 25-23, and 25-23. York improves to 7-4 overall and 2-1 as they snapped St. Mary's six match win streak.

Depleated Spartans Earn Conference Win at Stevenson
The York College volleyball squad posted a hard-earned 3-2 Capital Athletic Conference win on the road at Stevenson University on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans, playing without the services of three members of their normal rotation, received some strong efforts in pulling out the win.

Sea Gulls Bounce Spartans in CAC Opener
The York College volleyball team fell 3-0 Wednesday evening as visiting Salisbury University blanked the Spartans in straight sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-19. The defeat drops York’s record to 5-4 on the year including 0-1 in Capital Athletic Conference action while Salisbury improves to 8-1 (1-0 CAC).

York College volleyball junior outside hitter Alysse Beshore has been selected as the Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week for her efforts in the Green and White's last five matches.

Spartans Finish Third at Buttermaker Classic
The York College volleyball finished strong at the Buttermaker Classic as the Spartans finished third in the tournament on Saturday. The Spartans defeated MIT 3-2 in the match to earn that third place finish. Junior Alysse Beshore was named to the All-Tournament team after a great weekend for York.

Spartans Go 2-0 During Day One of the Buttermaker Classic
The York College Spartan volleyball squad swept their two matches during the first day of the 2009 Muhlenberg College Buttermaker Classic in Allentown, PA. The Spartans defeated Neumann 3-0 in the opening round match and then blanked FDU-Florham 3-0 in the nightcap.

Spartans Fall Short; Gettysburg Secures 3-1 Victory
The York College volleyball team dropped to 2-2 on the young season by way of a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Gettysburg (7-0) Wednesday evening at York’s Grumbacher Sport & Fitness Center. Despite taking the first game 25-22, the Green and White fell in the next three sets 25-17, 25-21, and 25-9.

Spartans Split Elizabethtown Tri-Match Saturday
The York College volleyball squad split their tri-match at Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans fell to the host Blue Jays in the opener before bouncing back to down McDaniel 3-1 in the nightcap. The Spartans now stand at 2-1 with the split.

DuMars Captures Win 250 in Volleyball’s Season Opener
The York College volleyball team opened the 2009 campaign with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over the visiting Messiah College Falcons Tuesday evening. Despite dropping the first set, the Spartans posted a four set 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-17 in their season opener at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

2009 York College Volleyball Preview
The 2009 York College volleyball team enters their campaign with high expectations coming off a 19-win season in 2008. The Spartans return a wealth of talent while an infusion of exciting newcomers give head coach Sue DuMars a great core of performers for the upcoming season.
