Junior Jess Smith returns to the Spartan lineup after missing the last year and a half with a knee injury. Smith brings an enthusiasum to the floor for the Spartans from her libero position. Smith is an athletic and agile player that has a great passing touch and the ability to cover ground on the back line. As a sophomore in 2006, Smith averaged 3.66 digs per game while she also served at 93.7% and had a serve reception percentage of 90.8%.
