YORK, PA - The York College volleyball team closed out their impressive 2007 regular season with a 3-0 win over former Capital Athletic Conference rival Catholic University on Senior Day in York. The Spartans improve to 29-5 with the victory while the Cardinals fall to 20-14. The match scores were 30-18, 30-17, and 30-18.
Prior to the match, the four Spartan seniors were honored. Setter Katie Hertz (Glenville, Pa./Delone Catholic), defensive specialist Lindsay Crider (Greencastle, Pa./James Buchanan), libero Laura Krajewski (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson), and outside hitter Amy Livelsberger (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) played their final regular season match in Wolf Gym. The group has combined to win 80 matches over the last four years.
The Spartans were paced by a sophomore as outside hitter Lindsay Schorner (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) put together another solid performance, registering 10 kills and 12 digs for another double-double. Schorner, a front-runner for the Capital Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Year, hit .286 for the match and added a service ace and a block assist in the win. Freshman Alishia Waltermyer (Brogue, Pa./Red Lion) was again brilliant as she hit .444 with nine kills and one error in 18 attempts. Freshman Heather Toth (Longmont, Col./Niwot) led the effort at the net with five total blocks while she also had three kills in six attempts.
The Spartans end the match hitting .309 as they made just 10 errors in 110 attempts for the day.

The Spartans are the three seed while the Mustangs are the sixth seed. Game time at Wolf Gymnasium is set for 7:00 pm.
