Emeigh Sets New School Record in Final CAC Tune Up

SHIPPENSBURG, PA – The York College women's track & field squad competed in their final tune up before the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference championships as they traveled to Shippensburg on Saturday to compete in the Paul Kaiser Invitational.

The meet, which was a non-scoring team meet, featured a plethora of weather conditions during the day as the Spartans had sun, rain and wind at various points during the meet.

The throwers paced the Spartans during the day. Sophomore Gabby Emeigh set a new school record in the hammer throw with a best throw of 41.39 meters.

10. Sydney Fitzwater – discus (37.55 meters / 123' 2")

INVITATIONAL NOTES

The Spartans had a number of new PRs set despite the interesting weather conditions … freshmen Sydney Fitzwater and Lucy Delker set new PRs in the hammer throw … Fitzwater set a new PR with a best throw of 37.30 meters while Delker notched a best heave of 38.68 meters … the duo also set new personal bests in the discus as Fitzwater had a best mark of 37.55 meters while Delker notched a best mark of 29.09 meters … senior Anne Measley recorded a new PR in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:02.49 … senior Kim Massa notched a new PR in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 12:24.01.

The Spartans head to Salisbury University on Friday, May 4 when they participate in the two-day 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Championships in Salisbury, Maryland.
