LANCASTER, PA – The York College women's indoor track and field team opened up their 2017-18 campaign with a trip to the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA on Saturday. The meet was a non-scoring team meet.
Junior Georgia Gillcrist had a big day for York as she earned a pair of fourth place finishes in the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash. Jada Griffin-Howard and Emily Clark each earned a pair of top 20 finishes for the Spartans. Griffin-Howard finished 17th in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 400-meter dash. Clark placed 14th in high jump and 14th in the triple jump for the Spartans.

Senior Anne Measley and Morgan Jones each set a new indoor PR in the 60-meter dash … Emily Clark set a new indoor PR in the triple jump … sophomore Gabby Emeigh established a new personal best in the shot put as she finished 16th … freshman Lucy Delker broke the 12- meter mark in the weight throw in her first collegiate meet.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, January 13 when they travel back to Franklin & Marshall to participate in the Coach I Open. The action kicks off at 10:00 am.
