YORK, PA - York College freshman Emily Cronise (Boonsboro, Md./Boonsboro) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Cronise wasted little time in going from the soccer pitch as a key member of the Spartans' CAC Championship women's soccer squad to the track. Cronise made an impact on the Spartan squad immediately as she shattered the school record in the 500 meter race, clocking in with a time of 1:22.27, besting the old record by nearly 12 seconds. Cronise finished the race seventh in a meet that primarily featured Division I and II student athletes.
Cronise also competed in the 400 meter dash where she recorded a time of 1:03.14 as she placed fourth in the flight. She was second among Division III competitors in that race.
