Two School Marks Fall at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The York College women's track team opened their indoor season at Bucknell University. The team faced top Division I and II teams in a solid warm up meet.

 Not to be outdone by the men, Abbey Rhodes (Hanover, Pa. / Hanover) decided to set a school record herself. Rhodes started her year with a toss of 36-7.5 to place her 8th of 26 competitors and secure a new school record.

Making the transition from soccer to track, Emily Cronise (Boonsboro, Md. / Boonsboro), ran a  1:22.27 in the 500 to open her season with a school record.  Cronise also ran a nice 1:03.14 in the 400 to cap off her day.

In the pole vault, Bethany Miller (York, Pa. / York Suburban) opened her season with a 9-4.25 leap to set begin her long season.  Bria Jones (Medford, N.Y. / Patchogue-Medford) had a solid opening 60 meter dash time with an 8.35 and in the 200 she posted a 28.54 to open her season. Laura Gerraputa (Nanuet, NY. / Clarkstown) also opened her career in the 60 dash with a time of 8.74, and in the 200 she ran a 28.54.

Coach LoBianco on the season opener, "Now we have plenty of time to work on everything and come back stronger in January."
