Rowlands Garners Second CAC Women's Field Athlete-of-the-Week Honor

YORK, Pa. – York College women's track and field freshman standout Laura Rowlands has been chosen as the latest Capital Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete-of-the-Week following her performance at the Green and White Invitational.

At the Green and White Invitational last Saturday, Rowlands set a new stadium record in the triple jump as she posted a 11.07-meter distance.  She would also place first in the long jump with a jump of 5.08 meters, setting a new program record in the event. Rowlands captured another first-place finish when she tied for the win in the high jump with a jump of 1.55 meters.

At the Messiah Quad meet on March 30, Rowlands also placed first in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.75 meters.

Rowlands and the Spartan squad return to action on Friday, March 8, as they travel to Grantham, Pa. where they will compete in the Messiah College Falcon Invitational. Friday's meet is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm and Saturday's meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
