Women's Track Participates in Paul Kaiser Invitational
SHIPPENSBURG, PA-The York College women’s track and field
squad participated in Saturday’s loaded Paul Kaiser
Invitational at Shippensburg University. The meet featured a number
of the top Division II and III programs in the region. The meet was
a non-team scoring meet.
The Spartans picked up three top tens for the day highlighted by
the 4x400 relay team. That foursome, composed of Krissy Fritz
(Lancaster, PA/Lampeter-Strasburg), Alaina Smelko (Punxstawney,
PA/Punxstawney), Lauren DeSimone (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock),
and Helen Noll (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs), recorded a
time of 4:21.39 as they placed sixth.
The 4x100 relay team which featured Fritz, Smelko, Cassandra Heller
(Wrightsville, PA/Eastern York), and Courtney Smith (Massapequa,
NY/Massapequa) placed tenth in their race, clocking in with a time
of 54.24.
The Spartans third top-ten came from senior Sarah Moser (Carlisle,
PA/Boiling Springs) as she finished tenth in the discus with a toss
of 107’1”.�
