Bullets Better Spartans in Friday Tilt

GETTYSBURG, PA – The York College women's tennis team had their modest two match win streak snapped on Friday as the Gettysburg College Bullets downed the Spartans 9-0 in non-conference play on a pleasant day in Gettysburg, PA.

The Bullets improve to 6-2 while York falls to 4-8.

The Bullets started the day with a trio of wins in doubles. Spartans Dea Vlahos (Broomall, Pa./Marple Newtown) and Megan McCullin (Westminster, Md./) made their match interesting in the first doubles contest as they fell 8-6. The Bullets took the other two flights by identical 8-1 scores.

The singles saw the Bullets cruise through the Spartan lineup as York lost all six matches in straight sets. The Spartans managed to win just seven games in singles play.

The Spartans continue a busy weekend on Saturday as they travel to Juniata College to face the Eagles in a non-conference contest. The match is slated for a 2:00 pm start.
