8-1 Loss for Spartans at Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. – The York College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss against Salisbury during a Capital Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.

With the loss, the Spartans fall to 2-7 overall and 1-0 in the CAC while the Sea Gulls improve to 4-2 and 1-1 in the conference.

The Sea Gulls dominated in doubles to take a 3-0 lead. Things would not fair any better for the Spartans in singles. Emily Skutnik (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) took Sam Babo to three sets, but could not hold onto a win. The first and only win for the Spartans came from Megan Jones (Felton, Pa./Red Lion). Jones defeated Charlotte Urian 6-2 and then 6-3 to keep the Spartans from getting shutout.

York returns to action on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 pm for a matchup against future CAC foe Southern Virginia.
