YORK, PA – The York College women’s tennis team saw
their losing streak reach seven as they fell to the tenth ranked
University of Mary Washington Eagles 9-0 in Capital Athletic
Conference action on Sunday afternoon in York. The Spartans fall to
1-9 overall and 0-2 in the CAC. The Eagles improve to 12-7 overall
and 3-0 in the conference.
The Eagles dominated doubles play as they captured the first
doubles 8-0 while they won the second and third doubles both by a
score of 8-1.
Singles play wasn’t much better as they won second and third
singles by shutout with 6-0, 6-0 scores. The Spartans’
Megan Logan (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East)
put up the biggest fight for the Spartans in the four singles as
she fell to Michelle Meadows 6-2, 6-1.
The Spartans return to action on Tuesday when they face Hood
College in a Capital Athletic Conference contest. The match is
slated for a 3:00 pm start.
