HILTON HEAD, SC – The York College women’s tennis squad completed their winter break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with a 7-2 loss to East Stroudsburg University. The defeat puts the Green and White’s 2009 record at 1-4 while the Warriors improve to 3-2.
    The Spartans’ two wins came courtesy of Megan Logan (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Stephanie Nelson (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) in the fifth and sixth slots, respectively.
    Logan picked up her fourth victory of the year with a 6-0, 6-3 result over Marissa Tanner. Logan now sports a solid 4-1 mark as she has played each of her matches as York’s #5 singles player.
    Nelson maintained her flawless 2009 record, downing Angela Teri 6-0, 6-4. The sophomore’s strong performance from the sixth slot has resulted in a sparkling 4-0 singles record.
    York returns to the court on Friday, March 19, as they travel to Gettysburg College. The Spartans square off with the Bullets at 3:30 pm.
