Spartan Women Start 2018 With Win over Randolph Macon

YORK, PA – The York College women's swim squad got off to a good start in 2018 as they downed Randolph-Macon 148-106 in a non-conference meet in York on Saturday. The Spartans earned nine individual wins in the meet including three Spartans picking up two wins each.

The Spartans swam the 100 butterfly, the 200 IM and the 200 freestyle relay as exhibitions … the Spartans had three multiple winners in the meet as Justine Wantz, Leilani Garcia, and Danielle Werner each captured a pair of individual victories … Wantz leads the team in individual wins as she now has nine … Garcia doubled her individual wins as she now has four wins for the Green and White … Werner now has three wins for the campaign … freshman Amanda Bley is second on the squad in wins as she now has six after her Saturday win in the 500 freestyle … freshman Jenna Hufnagle earned her first collegiate win with a victory in the 200 butterfly … Wantz still owns the top times in the CAC in the 100 and 200 backstroke.

 

Up Next:

The Spartans return to action next Saturday when they host Frostburg State University in a Capital Athletic Conference contest. The meet is slated for a 1:00 pm start.
