Spartan Women Roll Past Washington & Jefferson in Saturday Dual Meet

YORK, PA – The York College women's swim squad kept rolling as the Spartans downed Washington & Jefferson 124-71 in a non-conference meet on Saturday in York.

Notes:

The Spartans swam the 100 breaststroke and the 200 freestyle relay as exhibition races … senior Danielle Werner had the best time in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.37 while Samantha Hay (1:14.70) and Jennifer Strine (1:15.03) had the second and third best times of the event … the 200 free relay team of Werner, Justine Wantz, Margaret Stein, and Maddy Mann posted a best time of 1:43.55 …  freshman Amanda Bley earned a pair of individual wins for the Spartans as she now has five wins which ties her with Mann and Wantz for tops on the squad … sophomore Julia Trudel and freshman Leilani Garcia each earned a pair of runner up finishes in the meet.

 

Up Next:

The Spartans return to action on Friday when they travel to Lancaster to participate in the three-day Franklin & Marshall Invitational. The action kicks off Friday evening at 6:00 pm.
