Green and White Fall at Marymount
Before Hinkle could take to the water, the Green and White had a pair of top three finishers in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Megan Murphy (Farmingdale, N.J / Colts Neck), Kelsie Pike (Newark, Del. / St. Mark's), Ashley McManus (Malvern, Pa. / Great Valley), and Casenya Stone (Annandale, Va. / The New School of Virginia) nabbed second place combining for a time of 2:02.08. The team of Samantha Wingate (Ridley Park, Pa. / Ridley), Danielle Marino (Wind Gap, Pa. / Nazareth), Meg Walker (New Castle, Del. / Pencader Charter), and Sammy Greenwald (Germantown, Md. / Northwest) finished just over five seconds later, in third place, with a time of 2:07.78.
The Following event would bring Hinkle her first victory of the day. She cruised to an 11:41.40 finish in the 1000 yard freestyle. Teammates Madison Tonkay (Landisville, Pa. / Hempfield) and Maria Allera (Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) would complete the trifecta with Tonkay's 12:12.50 taking second and Allera's 12:18.95 taking third place.
McManus would take second place in her first individual action of the day. She swam a 2:07.54 in the 200 yard freestyle.
The 50 yard freestyle would see two Spartans sprint to top three finishes. Courtney Dacheux (Dover, Pa. / Dover) and Stone took second and third place with times of 26.08 and 26.51, respectively.
Junior standout Lindsey Buglino (Wharton, N.J. / Jefferson) would continue her successful year. Her 2:19.19 in the 200 yard individual medley was good enough for first place points. She would get right back in the water in the next event, the 100 yard butterfly, takig first place yet again with a 1:03.35. Pike would compliment Buglino's performance with a second place 1:06.41.
The 500 yard freestyle would give Hinkle her second victory of the day. She would put in an impressive 5:44.39 in the event.
Buglino had one more first place in her when she competed in the 100 yard breaststroke. Her top time was recorded at 1:13.80.
The women would finish the night with the 200 yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Megan Shannon (Hanover, Pa. / South Western), Stone, Tonaky, and Dacheux took first place with at time of 1:47.17. Wingate, Hinkle, Dana Taylor (Andover, N.J. / Lenape Valley Regional), and Taylor Michielini (Montvale, N.J. / Pascack Hills) would take third place with a time of 1:55.27.
The Spartans now stand at 2-2 on the season. They return to action on Saturday November, 9 when they host Salisbury, Dickinson, and St. Vincent in tri-meet action. Meet time is slated for 1:00 pm.
