YORK, Pa. – The York College women's swimming team fell 112-93 to visiting Rowan University on Monday evening in York. With the loss, the Spartans drop to 6-8 on the season while the Profs improve to 4-0 on the season.
Despite the final result, the Green and White did have several bright spots. Junior Chelsea Ross put together such a performance as she took first in the 200 freestyle. Ross posted a 2:00.28 to register first-place points for York.
Anna Schuster backed up an individual triumph on Saturday with another on Monday, winning the 100 butterfly in 1:04.50.
In the 100 breaststroke, standout rookie Courtney Dacheux won the even with a 1:13.92. She also took second in the 50 freestyle as she registered a 26.25 to take second.
Lindsey Buglino recorded the runner-up spot in the 400 IM with a 5:03.04.
Michaela Guild secured second for York in both the 1,000 and 500 freestyle events. In the 1,000, Guild posted an 11:22.27 while touching the wall at 5:35.08 in the 500.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday, January 21, when they host Frostburg St. at 1:00 pm. Prior to York's final regular season meet of the season, the Green and White will celebrate senior day as they recognize Guild, Kate Estes, and Kathy Murphy for their contributions to the program during their time with the Spartans.
